Description:
“‘Take no prisoners’ – that’s what they should have called it, at least on the basis of the break neck tempo bop tune “The Twelfth Helix”, written, as are the rest, by well-known pianist Dave Restivo. But then the pacing relaxes into the pensive ”Village Nights” – one of those magic compositions that has a theme that plays itself. Such a nimble,
yet intense touch on “Left at Tim’s” and “Red Wren Sang at ‘U'”! The key to it all may be the track “Egberto”, referring, of course, to guitarist/pianist Egberto Gismonti, master of mood and rhythm. this is a good, nay great album, featuring top shelf Canadian artists, and highly
recommended. (Radioland)”
